Glenda LaShelle ‘Gege’ Stevenson

Glenda LaShelle “Gege” Stevenson, 30, died on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 at her home in Mocksville after an extended illness.

She was born in Forsyth County on Sept. 2, 1988 to Eugenia Laverne Stevenson Ijames, who survives. She graduated from Davie County High School with the Class of 2006. She earned a bachelor’s degree from  Winston-Salem State University in 2010. She obtained her master’s degree from Capella University in 2017 and was in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. She was working two jobs – one as a call service representative with Pepsi products and as a care aide with Monarch Healthcare. She was a member of Gates of Zion Church in Midway. She loved her work and school, and was always putting others before herself and wanted to make sure everyone was okay and had what they needed.

Also surviving: 2 sisters, Jacqueline Stevenson (fiance’ Jesse) of Mocksville and Latrice Stevenson (fiance’ Branden) of Winston-Salem; 2 nieces, Brianna and Kenadi Stevenson; 2 nephews, Kaleem Stevenson and Ta’mir Stevenson-Dalton; 4 aunts, Maxcine Stevenson and Joann Stevenson, both of Mocksville, Phyllis Stevenson of Lexington, and Emma White of Mocksville; a special family, the Camps from South Carolina; her special friend, Tonya Taylor; her dog Cache; and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Atlas and Emma Stevenson; 2 uncles, Allen and Glenn Stevenson; 2 aunts, Mary Wagner and Alease Hayes; and a special cousin, Nakiesha Wagner.

The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Davie Funeral Chapel. The celebration of life service was conducted in the funeral chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3. Burial followed in the Rose Cemetery in Mocksville.
