James D. Pollard

Mr. James D. Pollard, 92, of Mocksville died on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018.

He was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Grayson County, Va. to the late Charlie and Mallie Maines Pollard. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Pollard retired from McLean Trucking Co. after 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bowers Pollard.

Survivors: 2 sons, James D. Pollard Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and Mark Pollard (Sharon) of Mocksville; 3 daughters, Deborah Wilson (Scott) of Rural Hall, Karen Riccio (David) of Connecticutt and Sandra Smith (Jackie) of Advance; 7 grandchildren, Lisa Henderson (Kevin), David Riccio Jr. (Rachel), Clark Smith (Richie), Adam Riccio (Chelsea), Philip Smith (Margaret), Timothy Riccio and Katelyn Pollard; 4 great-grandchildren, Eloise, Isaac, Amaryllis and Zinnia; a brother, Thomas Pollard (Gladys) of Elk Creek, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Pastors Tracy Webb and Steve Stoltzfus. Burial followed in Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
