It took a couple of years for the town to agree on a plan for an ABC Store, but since the new board was formed, things have been happening.

“We hit the road running,” Benny Randall, chair of the board for the newly-formed Mocksville-Cooleemee ABC Board, said.

The Mocksville store will be in the old Fastenal building in the Eastgate Shopping Center off Yadkinville Road. It includes 4,400 square feet and upgrades should start this month.

The new store should be open by the end of November or the first of December, Randall said.

“It’s perfect for us,” he said of the site. Fastenal is moving to another site in the same shopping center.

The board entered into a five-year lease for the property. The goal, he said, is to purchase property and build a stand-alone store after that first five years.
