Three Davie communities will hold Cross Walks on Friday, commemorating Jesus’ last hours before he was crucified.

Mocksville and Cooleemee will host events beginning at 10 a.m. for the somber walks, with people carrying a cross as Jesus did on his way to Calvary.

In Cooleemee, meet at Refuge Baptist Church in the parking lot for the walk to First Baptist Church on Marginal Street.

In Mocksville, meet at North Main/Cemetery streets for the police-escorted walk on Main Street to First Presbyterian. There will be brief devotionals at each site.

Advance will hold a cross walk from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Meet at Shady Grove Elementary on Cornatzer Road for the walk (Vans are provided for those who cannot walk that far.) to Advance United Methodist Church.
