Davie County is considering allowing employees with proper concealed carry permits to have their firearms at work.

Currently, no weapons are allowed in county buildings other than working law enforcement officers.

“I believe we should allow our county employees – properly licensed, with proper background checks – to (voluntarily) conceal carry,” Commissioner Mark Jones said.

The board is expected to discuss the issue further at its April meeting.
