Willie Monroe Cope

Mr. Willie Monroe Cope, 96, of Advance died on Wednesday, Nov, 22, 2017 at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1920 in Davie County to Walter Leon and Hattie Rosetta Smith Cope. Mr. Cope served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II and was retired from Hanes Hosiery after almost 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Marie Tuttle Cope.
Surviving: 6 children, Sharon Boger (Ken) of Mocksville, David Cope (Freida) of Advance, Tim Cope (Darlene) of Rural Hall, Deborah Bailey (Beetle) of Advance, Mark Cope (Sue) of Advance and Lisa Hill (Eric) of Mocksville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; a brother, W.L. Cope (Eunice) of Clemmons; a brother-in-law, Wiley Tuttle (Eva) of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, Karlene Cope of Advance.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at Macedonia Moravian Church with Pastor Zach Dease officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service.
