Lois Mae Safriet ‘Snook’ Harris

Mrs. Lois Mae “Snook” Safriet Harris, 84, of Statesville, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Autumn Care in Mocksville.

Mrs. Harris was born July 28, 1933, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James Martin “Mart” Safriet and Lizzy Seamon Safriet. She was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and on April 12, 1952, she married William Coolidge “Docker” Harris, who died on Oct. 24, 2017. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher during her active years. Her church and church family were important to her. While they were able, her and Docker would go visit family and friends after church on Sundays.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Howard Safriet, and a sister, Laura Kimmel.

Survivors: her daughter, Diane Shoffner and husband Roy along with their daughter, Angela Shoffner, all of Harmony; and a sister, Mary Hayes of Statesville.

Funeral services honoring her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Rev. Brandon Gwaltney and Dr. Jesse Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
