Rachel LaVann Troutman Fagan

Rachel LaVann Troutman Fagan, born Dec. 26, 1943 in Concord to Fred R. and Margaret Barbee Troutman, lost her battle with cancer and died on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.

She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She served many years at Blaise Baptist Church in Mocksville, in different ministries over the years including the choir, Senior ministry director, Handyman Ministry, and Disaster Relief Team. She was also a member of the Davie Theater Co. as well as Storehouse for Jesus volunteer.

Survivors: her husband of nearly 47 years, Douglas MacArthur Fagan; daughters, Adaiah Paul (Danny), Margaret Sherwood (Jon); 6 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Ruby Herringshaw (Paul); 2 brothers, Robby Troutman (Betty) and Joel Troutman (Glenda); a nephew, Richard Troutman (JR Troutman, son); and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Lynn Yarborough, Gaynelle Ballard and Penny Troutman.

A celebration of life service will be held at Blaise Baptist Church on Sunday, Nov. 19 in the Family Life Center. Family visitation will be at 2 p.m. and the service will be at 3 p.m.
