Dr. John Ed Mathison will lead the 37th Annual Sprinkle Preaching Mission Sept. 24-26 at First United Methodist Church, 310 N. Main St., Mocksville.

The theme, using Mark 1:16-20, is “A First Century Call for 21st Century Christians” for Sunday morning services at 8:45 in the Family Life Center and 10:55 in the Sanctuary. Risen Son duet will sing at the early and evening services Sunday.

Evening services are at 7, with the Children singing on Monday,  and the theme “How Can I Know That I Am Saved?” from 1 John 1:9; the combined choirs with First Presbyterian will sing on Monday and Tuesday, with the Monday sermon “Is Pentecost Happening Today?” from Acts 1:6-8, and How Can My Life Be Productive?” on Tuesday using John 15:1-8.

A nursery is provided, and there are K-5 activities nightly.

Dr. Henry and his wife Margaret Jordan Sprinkle left this legacy for the community, and each year a guest minister speaks at these services through an endowment they provided.

Mathison, from Montgomery, Ala., is a third generation preacher. “We are living in very troubling times and are in need of lifting each other up. Our theme will be ‘Come Follow Me’,” he said. “It is sure to be a time of revival and renewal in our Christian faith as they go hand in hand while beginning in our hearts.  We pray you will accept our invitation to join us and be enriched by these messages that you can study the Scripture ahead of time.”
