Shirley Nadine Vandergriff Mask, 68, of Mocksville, died at Mountain Valley Hospice House Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017.

She was born in Ripley, Tenn. on July 28, 1949, to the late Thomas Brian Vandergriff and Nellie Kathern Daniels.  Mrs. Mask was a retired waitress and last employed at Pier 601 in Mocksville.

Survivors: a son, Kenneth Ray Alexander (Lisa) of Mocksville; a daughter, Melinda Alexander Hernandez of Mocksville; a brother, Tommy Vandergriff of Missouri; and a sister, Martha “Delores” Monroe of Tennessee.

She was also preceded in death by: 2 sons, Timothy Dewayne Alexander and John Thomas Alexander; and 3 sisters, Virginia Vandergriff, Betty Vandergriff and Ramona Vandergriff.

The celebration of life service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Alexander Family Cemetery, 540 Liberty Church Road, Mocksville, with Hospice Minister Mark officiating. The family received friends following the service.
