Lawrence McKinley ‘Bo’ Smith

Lawrence McKinley “Bo” Smith, 94, of Cooleemee died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at Glenn Kiser Hospice Home.

A native of Davie County, he was born April 14, 1923, the son of the late Albert Smith and Nora Spry Smith. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty James Smith.

Mr. Smith attended Cooleemee School and was a retired weaver in the textile industry. He loved to hunt, fish and read.

Survivors: 2 daughters,  Mary Cranfill of Mocksville and Carol Whitman of Salisbury; a sister, Sue Eudy of Mocksville; 5 grandchildren,  Delina, Jeff, Chris, Skip and Andy; 9 great-grandchildren, Mary, Heather, Alison, Joe, Aaron, Kameren, Kilye, Taylor and Joshua; and 4 great-great -grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at Davie Funeral Chapel. The celebration of life aervice will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Revs. Shelby Harbour and Stan Riddle officiating.
