Teresa Dale Bailey Sparks, 62, of Mooresville died on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

She was born May 8, 1955, the daughter of the late George Farris Bailey and the late Mamie Dale Bowles Bailey Houser. She was the wife of John Martin Sparks and they had been married for 47 years. She was a graduate of Davie County High School and recently retired from a 40-year career with Ingersoll Rand. She was an active member of Fern Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed reading, cross stich and “shopping for any reason.” Her greatest accomplishments were that of being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: 2 children, Mary K. Sparks Morrow Bowman (Mike) and John Henry Sparks; her siblings, Terry Higgins (Frank Bledsoe), Troy Bailey (Linda), Cloyd Bailey (Biba) and Mark Bailey (Sharon); 4 grandchildren, Kelly Morrow, Amanda Coffey (Joel), Michael Morrow (Kayla) and Patricia “Nikki” McKimmey (Chase Baird); 2 great-grandchildren, Caleb Martin Morrow and Nathan Dale Morrow; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Katie McCall and Braydon Clark; plus 2 special friends, Linda Redmond and Joyce Weeks.

The celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16 at Fern Hill Baptist Church officiated by Pastor J.C. Stroud. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
