Officer Keith Hurley was called to the Windsong Road area at 1:35 p.m. when neighbors said the couple was going through the neighborhood yelling and assaulting one another.
When the man left on foot, the woman followed in a vehicle and hit him with the corner of the front of the car.
Tori Latreil Etchison, 34, of Milling Road, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
Ronald Jason Sherrill, 38, of South Angell Road, was charged with domestic assault.
Etchison was treated and released from the hospital. Sherrill was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center where he refused treatment, Reagan said.
Officers are interviewing multiple witnesses, and more charges may be filed. They aren’t sure what started the argument, Reagan said.
