Mr. Mark Steven Denton, 62, of NC 801 S., Mocksville,  died Monday, June 12, 2017, at his home.

He was born June 13, 1954, in Rowan County to the late Roy Roartist and Mary Evelyn Everhardt Denton. Mr. Denton was a retired minister having served the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors: his wife of 35 years, Jan Denton; 2 children, Maria Denton and Matthew Denton (Kayla); 2 grandchildren, Emily Nicole Denton and Grayson Allen Denton;  4 siblings, Eunice Maynard (Robert), Gary Denton, Betty Travis (Bob) and Janet Denton (Phil); and several nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 17 at Liberty United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
