Pauline Hutchens Blake

Mrs. Pauline Hutchens Blake, 92, of Fork-Bixby Road, Advance, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Bermuda Commons.

She was born March 30, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late John Blaine and Mattie Lou Hutchens. Mrs. Blake enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking. She had a crazy sense of humor, but most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Sshe was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Hubert A. Blake; a daughter, Portia Welch; and 8 siblings.

Survivors: 3 daughters, Kathy Renteria (Tony) of Mocksville, Linda Smith (David) of Kernersville and Marcia Anderson (Terry) of Advance; 3 sons, Wayne Blake (Jill Pryor) of Virginia, Ray Blake (Jean) of Kernersville and Dale Blake (Carla Carver) of Boonville; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Bell; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Margie Welch; and her friends at Bermuda Commons.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 10 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Pastor Wayne Swisher and Chaplain Katie Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 9, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
