Does this warm weather make you want to go outside?

Maybe start a garden?

The Deep Roots community Garden in Mocksville has spaces for gardeners to rent – all while helping the less fortunate in the area.

In its fourth year, Deep Roots has given away some 4,000 pounds of locally-grown produce.

Raised beds can be rented for $10 each for the April 1-Oct. 31 growing season. Gardens are open from 8 a.m.-dusk.

There are gardens off Clement Street in Downtown Mocksville, and adjacent to the Storehouse for Jesus just east of town.

Classes are offered on planting, harvesting, preparing and preserving foods you grow.

To reserve a spot, contact Diane Salmon at 336-492-2360 or godsgarden1125@gmail.com.

Deep Roots is sponsoring a fundraising meal at Mocksville First United Methodist Church, North Main Street, on Wednesday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m.
