Eleanor Cunningham Nichols

Eleanor Cunningham Nichols, 85, died at Forsyth Medical Center Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017.
She was a native of Cazenovia, N.Y., the daughter of the late Milton Charles Cunningham and Ellen Cook Cunningham, and the widow of the late James Albert Nichols, who died in 1997. She was a retired seamstress in the textile industry.
Survivors: 5 sons, Kevin Nichols of Castorland, N.Y., Ronald Nichols of Winston-Salem, Charles, Eric (Brenda) and Brian Nichols, all of Mocksville; 2 daughters, Shelia Mixon (William) and Shelley Mabe (Mark), both of Mocksville; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Gilbert and Lawrence Cunningham; and a sister, Carolyn Andrews.
The family received friends at Davie Funeral Chapel from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. The celebration of life service was held at 2 in the chapel with Pastor Michael Burchette of Community Baptist Church officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in Rose Cemetery.
