Mr. Larry Gene Harris of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.

Mr. Harris was born on Aug. 19, 1952 in Rowan County to Bonnie Speer Harris of Mocksville and the late W.D. “Tub” Harris. He attended Davie County High School, Class of 1970, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Also surviving: four brothers, Cecil Speer, Dwight and Garry Harris, all of Mocksville, and Jeffrey Harris of Sevierville, Tenn.

A graveside service was held on Jan. 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddy Driver.
