John Thomas Wallace

Mr. John Thomas Wallace, 88, of Liberty Church Road, Mocksville, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.

He was born June 14, 1928, in Lone Hickory to the late William Luther and Ethel Mae Hutchens Wallace. Mr. Wallace was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Cloyce Boles Wallace in October 2002; a daughter, Joyce Marie Wallace in 1975; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; and a special friend, Estie Jones.

Survivors: 2 children, Tommy Wallace and Crystal Kelly (Doug), a sister, Peggy Talley (Ken), all of Mocksville; 4 grandchildren, James Thomas Wallace of Chicago, Benjamin Wayne Wallace, Payton Thomas Kelly and Spencer Walker Kelly, all of Mocksville; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Elaine Wallace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Dr. Charles Buckner and the the Rev. Greg McEwen officiating. Burial followed in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
