Elbert Clark

Elbert Clark, 76, of Mocksville, died Dec. 18, 2016, in Rowan Regional Hospital following a short illness.

He was born in Anson County, son of the late Virginia Wall Clark and Clarence Clark Sr. He graduated from Davie County Training School, and retired from Fiber Industries. He was an active member of Boxwood Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, trustee, deacon, and treasurer of the church building fund.

He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Herbert and Joseph Clark.

Survivors: his wife, Paulette M. Clark of the home; a son, David Clark; a daughter, Jennifer Clark; 4 brothers, Charlie (Corrie) Clark, Preston (Betty) Clark, Clarence (Sadie) Clark, and Frank (Mary) Clark; 2 sisters, Rether Parker and Bertha Duncan; 4 sisters-in-law, Ozener Clark, Lurline Clark, Connie Clark, and Betty Clark; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

His funeral service will be on Friday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at Boxwood Baptist Church in Mocksville. The Rev. Gary Milton will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
