Chris Reynolds’ prep football career is not quite over. On Monday the Davie quarterback got a big surprise – he was added to the North Carolina roster for the 80th-annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
The game matches the top high-school players from North and South Carolina. The game will be played Dec. 17 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. at 2 p.m.
After setting dozens of records the past two years for the War Eagles, Reynolds got the nod as a replacement player. He became the 13th Davie player to make the Shrine Bowl. He is the first since Trip McNeill, who plays offensive line for Duke, in 2013.
Last week, Reynolds committed to Charlotte as a preferred walk-on.
