Mrs. Mae Caudell Howard, 103, formerly of Mocksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Western NC Baptist Home in Asheville.

She was born Jan. 15, 1913, in Davie County to the late Thomas Ishmael and Jessie Ida Hendrix Caudell. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Mocksville. She was a beautician for more than 50 years and opened a beauty shop in Cooleemee in 1932.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Howard; a sister, Lucille Caudell Howard; and 2 brothers, Walter Caudell and Jeff Caudell.

Survivors include several nieces and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Shane Nixon officiating.  Burial will follow in Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
