Mrs. Dorothy Leigh Dotson, 91, died on Nov. 29, 2016, at her residence.

She was born in Durham on May 27, 1925 to John William and Margaret Pauline Scales Roberts. During World War II, she worked for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif. Once she became a mother, she focused her energy on her family and took pride in being a homemaker and wife. After her children were grown, she returned to work as a bookkeeper for Midway Electric Co.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Dotson; and a sister, Margaret Ann Roberts Stuckey.

Surviving: a daughter, Debra Leigh Dotson; a son, Robert Edward Dotson (Robin); 2 grandchildren, Amber Elizabeth Dotson and Robert Edward Dotson Jr.; and 2 step-grandchildren, Matthew Alan Swaim and Mark Wesley Swaim (wife Janna).

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. John Bishop officiating.
