Joseph Sinclair ‘Cuyler’ Devine

Joseph “Cuyler” Sinclair Devine, 19, died as a result of an automobile accident Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.

He was born at Mt. Pleasant, S.C. on Feb. 28, 1997, the son of Sean and Lynn Devine of Mocksville. He was a graduate of Davie County High School and a student at Iowa Western Community College.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by: 2 sisters, Caitlin and Hunter Devine; his paternal grandmother, Ellen Devine of Maine; an uncle, Alex “Chip” Devine; 5 aunts, Monica Boudreax, Candy Snyder, Renee’ Rylee, Denny Sides and Kate Devine; Grandmother Nana; special friends, Shell, Sammy, Jess, Luke and Alley; and all his Davie County family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, David Walters and Claudette Spann, and his paternal grandfather, Joseph Devine.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Blaise Baptist Church. A celebration of life memorial service followed in the church at 2 p.m. officiated by Pastor Bill Phillips and assisted by Chad Correll, Bobby Sweat, Coach “B”, Caitlin Devine and Hunter Devine. Following the service, there was a balloon release at the Davie County High School football field. Honorary pallbearers were: Josh Langford, Josh Hansell, Parker Correll, Ryan Heath, Bobby Sweat and Austin Thomas.
