Beckie Buckley Long, 62, died Thursday, Nov.10, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
Born Beckie Luanna Moxley in Gaston County on Feb. 2, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Millard Devon Moxley and Jane Idar Laye Moxley. After high school, she attended Mitchell Community College in Statesville. She had been employed with Superior Valet Services and was owner/operator of her own valet service.
Survivors: a daughter, Rebecca Jane Williams (Mike) of Greensboro; a son, Edgar Lenair Ballard (Sheila) of Woodford, Va.; 2 brothers, Steve Johnson (Madge) of South Carolina and Allon Moxley of New Hampshire; 2 sisters, Sharon Garner and Darlene Macfadyen, both of Hiddenite; a foster sister, Shelley Klingle; 7 grandchildren, Krystal Ballard, Michael Macfadyen, Michael Williams, Christine Buckley, David Williams, Ireland Ballard and Liam Ballard; one great grandchild, Layla Macfadyen; her companion, George David Charles of Mocksvilleand his daughter, Mary Charles. I
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Elissa Buckley.
A celebration of life memorial service was conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday at Davie Funeral Chapel in Mocksville. The family received friends after the service in the chapel.
