James Lee ‘Jim’ Shoffner

Mr. James “Jim” Lee Shoffner, 87, of Briarcliff Lane, Mocksville, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at his home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Yadkin County to the late Martin Columbus and Emma Novella Southard Shoffner.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Mason; 2 sisters, Stella Cheek and Samantha Gray; and 5 brothers, Wilson, Troy, Hubert, Richard and Jerry.

Survivors: his wife, Luray Miller Shoffner; 2 daughters, Judy Mason (Kenny) and Paula Dotson; a sister, Barbara Powell; a brother, Bill Shoffner; a grandson, Justin Dotson (Laura Beth); and 2 great-grandchildren, Wesley Mason and Kace Dotson, all of Mocksville.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Bob Briggs and Darren Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home.
