Helen Edwards Hodges Hege

Mrs. Helen Edwards Hodges Hege, 83, of Mocksville, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016 at her son’s home in Danbury.
She had been residing there for the past several years due to illness. She was born in Davie County on June 9, 1933 to the late Johnny Odell Edwards and the late Edna Viola Gatton Edwards. She was a Christian and raised in the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, home decorating and was a seamstress. She worked in the sewing industry at the Cooleemee mill and in the food service industry. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and meeting people during her working years.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Aldine Gray Hege; an infant sister, Linda Lenella Edwards; her brother, Chester Gray Edwards; and a son, Curtis Lee Stiles.
Survivors: her children, Gary Hodges (Linda), Dianne Stiles, Mechiell Austin (Pat), Alan Hege (Robin); siblings, Bobby Edwards, Ray Edwards (Mary), Dorothy Adkins, and Brenda Gibson (Chuck Collins); grandchildren, Stephanie Tuttle (Chad), Jennifer Hodges, Clint Stiles, Tiffany Stiles, Patrick Austin (Ashleigh), Adria Austin and Skyler Hege; great-grandchildren, Sierra Summers, Bayleigh Hodges, Faith Helen Stiles, Bella Austin, Kayla Austin and Austin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Jericho Church of Christ, 124 Davie Academy Road, Mocksville.
