Schools honoring veterans

Davie County Schools will honor the men and women who served or are serving in the military by inviting them to activities. For more information, contact the school.

• Thursday, Nov. 3, 5:15-6:15 p.m., spaghetti dinner in the cafeteria, 6:30 p.m. Veteran’s Day Program in the gym/auditorium, William Ellis Middle School . Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, and drink, $5 per person, veterans eat free.

• Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1:50 p.m., gym, Cornatzer Elementary School.

• Wednesday, Nov. 9, 8:30-9:15 a.m., cafeteria, Shady Grove Elementary School, veterans’ breakfast.

• Thursday, Nov.10, 8:30 a.m., gym, North Davie Middle School. Local veterans invited. Band, chorus students will perform.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., gym, Cooleemee Elementary School.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., gym, Mocksville Elementary School, Veteran’s Day Program.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., gym, Pinebrook Elementary School. Students who have a family member who is a veteran are encouraged to have that person join them as their special guest.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., gym, South Davie Middle School.

• Thursday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., gym, William R. Davie Elementary School, Veterans’ Day Program. Students and staff will invite family members who are veterans. Every grade level will honor the veterans with a presentation. Veterans can have a photo with their guest.

Davie County High School honored veterans at the Sept. 30 Veteran’s Night football game.

The Davie County High School JROTC Color Guard will also be presenting the Colors at several of the other schools’ celebrations, as well as at the Senior Service Center Veterans’ Dinner on Nov. 10.

The Davie County High School Band Wind Ensemble and JROTC Color Guard for countywide Veterans’ Day celebration on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the veterans monument in Downtown Mocksville.
