Davie gearing up for Halloween

Published 9:42 am Thursday, October 27, 2016

Monday is Halloween, and that means a lot of traffic and plenty of little ghosts and goblins along North Main Street and in the Downtown Mocksville area.

Every year, hundreds, maybe more, converge onto North Main Street for trick or treating.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area Monday evening.

The Brock Gym area on North Main will be alive as well, with the Davie County Recreation and Parks Department sponsoring a “Halloween Spooktacular Fest” from 5-8 p.m. The $2 cost includes entertainment, games and activities, which will include: a balloon artist and juggler, hay bale maze, inflatables and more. Free youth and adult costume contests start at 6 p.m. Available food will include funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos, Twinkies and candy bars, kettle corn and cotton candy.

The Davie Wellness Center at 142 Gaither St. downtown will hold an 80’s throwback Zumba Party from 6:15-7 p.m. Sign up at triadwellnesscenter@cardinalinnovations.org.
