Tim Smith

In a tragic accident, Tim Smith left us far too soon on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016. His soul came to rest where his heart had always been, in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, Fred Bowden Smith, and his best friend and fellow veteran, Spurgeon Goss.

He was survived by: his mother, Callie Louise Smith; his sisters, Kae Stockton and her husband Jerry, and Diane White and her husband Stan; the love of his life, Mandy Cartner, along with her daughter and son-in-law, Karlyn and Bradley Armsworthy; his eldest son, Adam Smith, wife Ashley and their children Elaena and Levi; his cherished daughter Jessica Smith, her husband Caleb Whitaker and their children Kelbi, Karsyn, and Calli; his youngest son and treasured gift, Austin Smith, and his much loved fiancé, Hannah, are all lost without him. His beloved companion, Sammy the dog, never left his side.

Tim honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a passionately devoted Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, farmer, rancher, cowboy, musician, and mentor to many. He has left a legacy that can never be forgotten and boots that can never be filled.

“All who wander are not lost.”
