Bobby Lee Hepler

Bobby Lee Hepler, 85, of Mocksville, died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice Home in Salisbury.

Born April 16, 1931, he was the son of the late Chalmus Barrett Hepler and Lillie McDaniel Hepler. Mr. Hepler was a self-employed brick mason and a skilled craftsman in wood carving. He made musical instruments such as the mandolin and fiddle, and he enjoyed jamming at bluegrass festivals with fellow musicians. He enjoyed camping, but his greatest love was for family, God, friends and for his companion and fiancé, Patty Sechrist.

Survivors: his fiancé, Patty; his son, Steve Hepler (Susie) of Salisbury; his daughter, Donna Boger (Ricky) of Mocksville; a sister, Clara Myers of Mocksville; 3 grandchildren, Justin Boger, Heather Hooker, and Stephanie Shoffner; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

The celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at Davie Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Cox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will follow in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.
