Charles Burdette Phillips

Mr. Charles Burdette Phillips, 90, of Phillips Lane, Mocksville, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Phillips was born July 23, 1926, in Olean, N.Y. to the late Charles William and Eva Bell Chamberlain Phillips. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Phillips was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a licensed pilot and loved flying.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Dawn Phillips; and a son, Joseph Edwin Phillips
Survivors: his wife, Mary Lou Foster Phillips; 3 children, Eva Casstevens (Danny), Justin Burdette Phillips (Donna), all of Mocksville and Laura Pearson (Craig) of Lenoir; 2 brothers, Ray Phillips of Machias, N.Y. and Alan Phillips of Crestline, Calif.; a sister, Mary Ellen Wollam of Ovieda, Fla.; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dana Fruits officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
