‘Ms. Senior’ Davie pageant planned

Davie County Senior Services will host the first Ms. Senior Davie County Pageant for senior women to showcase their inner beauty, style, poise and talent.
It will feature three areas of competition – evening gown, talent and statement of beliefs.
Contestants must be 60 years of age or older by Sept. 1, and a resident of Davie County. The pageant date is Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. A time of socialization and refreshments will occur prior to the pageant, beginning at 5:45. Contestants should plan to attend two rehearsals: Sept. 15 and Sept. 22 from 2-3 p.m.
The winner will represent Davie County Senior Services and the county in a events throughout the year. She will also attend next year’s pageant to help crown Ms. Senior Davie County 2017. The winner may also go on to compete at the state level for Ms. North Carolina Senior America in April of 2017. Competition at the state level is not required.
A meet and greet for prospective contestants will be Thursday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. at Senior Services. Applications can be picked up at Senior Services’ Mocksville site, the Bobby H. Knight Senior Services Building, 278 Meroney St., Mocksville, or by visiting www.daviecountync.gov/seniorservices. Deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 1.
