Ernest Millard Godbey Jr., 57, known to family and friends as “Jr.” died Friday, July 1, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Born Jan. 21, 1959, he was the son of the late Alice Winters Godbey and the late Ernest Godbey Sr., and the husband of Linda Myers Godbey, who survives. He attended Davie County High School and prior to becoming disabled he worked in management in the fast food industry.

Also surviving: a brother, Gary Godbey (Vivian) of New Mexico; a sister, Debbie Godbey Horton (Wayne) of Rural Hall; a nephew, Chris Hertig (Stephanie); a niece, Tabatha Horton, and a special cousins, Patricia and Mark Worth.

The celebration of life memorial Service was at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Davie Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Ray Harris. The family received friends before service.
