William Fred Allen

Mr. William Fred Allen, 70, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

He was born on Sept. 22, 1945, in Yadkin County to the late Clyde Lafayette and Pauline Sofley Allen. Mr. Allen was a member of Victory Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. After 32 years, he retired from Fiber Industries.  Mr. Allen was a past president of the Cooleemee Civitans.  He was a member of the Spencer Moose Lodge where he had served as past president and past governor. Mr. Allen had been past state president and was serving as the assistant territory manager of the NC Moose Association. In May 2000, he received the Pilgrim’s Degree, the Moose Lodge’s highest honor.

He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Shelby Hutchens and Jimmy Allen.

Survivors: his wife, Annie Chastain Allen of the home; 4 children, Donna Ivey (Dennis) of South Carolina, Jackie Allen, Vicki Mutch (Craig) and Kenny Allen (Jennifer), all of Mocksville; 5 grandchildren, Katie Allen, Patrick Mutch, Kelli Allen, Kallen and William Mutch; 5 sisters, JoAnn Barney, Jane Sammons (Dwight), Peggy Gaither (Butch), all of Mocksville, Glenda Call of Salisbury and Darlene Naylor (Dale) of Mocksville; and 7 four-legged grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at  noon Wednesday, June 22 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Shelby Harbour officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon at the church. Entombment will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 23,in Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum in Salisbury.
