Perry Franklin Owen, 55, died at his home Saturday, June 4, 2016.

He was born in Davidson County on July 6, 1960, the son of the late Charlie Franklin Owen and the late Pearl Ethel Grubb Owen. He attended Davie County High School and on Oct. 26, 1984, he married Loretta Coats Owens, who survives. He worked in the construction industry and was a member of Smith Grove United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife of more than 31 years, he is survived by: 2 sons, Justin Owen of Florida and Joshua Owen of Mocksville; 2 daughters, Jessica Hermanns of Florida and Whittney Short (Christopher) of Mocksville; 4 grandchildren, Natalee Grace Short, Brooke LeeAnn Short, Alyssa Hermanns and Alanna Hermanns; and 2 sisters, Mary G. Smith of South Carolina and Rebecca Clark of Kernersville.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, James S. Goss and a sister, Annie Ruth.

The family will conduct a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Smith Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Darren Crotts will officiate.
