Mr. John Harding McClannon, 95, of Mocksville, died on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born April 22, 1921 in Davie County to John David and Margaret Griffin McClannon. He was retired from Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville. Mr. McClannon enjoyed farming and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Cook; a great-grandson, Anthony Shawn McClannon; and 5 siblings.

Survivors: his wife of 74 years, Inez Holcomb McClannon; 2 daughters, Judy (Willis) Trivette and Brenda Howell; 2 sons, Bill (Diana) McClannon and Eugene McClannon; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Bobby Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel UMC cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home.
