Jerry Wayne Dickens

Jerry Wayne Dickens died at his home on Gladstone Road Wednesday, April 13, 2016, just 14 days after his 72nd birthday following a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was a native of Iredell County, born March 30, 1944, to the late Raymond Edward Dickens and Vivian Elizabeth Sherrill Dickens. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Jason Dickens. He was a graduate of Harmony High School. He spent most of his working life in textiles. He worked for B&F Manufacturing and later retired from C&R Fabricators. He was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors: his wife of almost 17 years, Lisa Cranford Dickens of the home; a sister, Sheila Campbell of Harmony; 2 sisters-in-law, Diane Dickens of Yadkinville and Judy Dickens of Hamptonville; and a special godchild, Haley Benge.
A celebration of life service was conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Rock Spring Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Steve Hedgecock. The family received friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
