The Winston-Salem Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART) and the Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) are seeking public review and comment on the following documents:

• Amendments and Modifications to the Fiscal Years 2016-2022 Winston-Salem Urban Area Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP)

• Federal and State Transportation Funds Obligated in 2015 in the Winston-Salem Urban Area MPO

The Fiscal Years 2016-2022 MTIP amendments includes six projects programmed due to additional revenue (House Bill 97).  Three roadway projects will accelerate funding of the Interstate 40 widening and bridge over the Yadkin River, widen of NC 150 from Frye Bridge Road to the Forsyth County Line, a build a new two-lane road from Forum Parkway to University Parkway.  Three bicycle and pedestrian projects are contingent on local matching funds and include a multi-use path bridge over the Salem Creek Connector, the extension of Salem Creek Greenway from Marketplace Mall to Forsyth Technical Community College and sidewalks along Barbara Jane Avenue, Byerly Road and Barry Streets in Winston-Salem. The MTIP modifications accelerate existing project phases due to additional revenue (House Bill 97) for the widening of Reidsville Road (US 158) to Belews Creek Road, Old Hollow Road in Walkertown, two bridge replacements, two interchange projects and all sections of the Northern Beltway- Eastern Section. Other modifications include existing project cost increases and delays.

The Federal and State Transportation Funds Obligated in 2015 in the Winston-Salem Urban Area MPO is a listing of transportation projects by date, phase and amount of funds authorized during Federal Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2015.
