Mrs. Carol Ann Chaffin Head, 74, of US 601 S., Mocksville, died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.

She was born July 19, 1941, in Rowan County to the late Melvin and Gertrude Chaffin.Mrs. Head enjoyed canning jams and jellies and at local craft shows was known as “the jelly lady.” She also enjoyed cooking for family and fishing.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Head; her stepfather, Leonard L. Williams; and a sister, Sharon Modlin.

Survivors: 2 daughters, Lisa Spillman (Eddie) of Mocksville and Lori Harrison of Salisbury; 3 grandchildren, Ashlee Spillman, Courtney and Spenser Harrison; a sister, Pat Patrick (Dan) of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13 at Eaton Funeral Chapel with Mike Allen officiating. Burial will to follow in Legion Memorial Park in Cooleemee. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 12 at the funeral home.
