Mr. Raymond Doniford Bridges, 73, of Advance died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health.

He was born Nov. 7, 1942 in Cumberland County to George Doniford and Dorothy Bellamy Bridges. Mr. Bridges served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Advance United Methodist Church. He retired from Amp, Inc. and enjoyed being outdoors, Indian heritage, world history and nature.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Beauchamp Bridges; his parents; and a brother, William Bridges.

Surviving: a daughter, Virginia E. Faubel and husband Michael; and 3 grandchildren, Catherine, Zachary and Benjamin.

A funeral service was  held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Cheryl Skinner officiating. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Burial was at 11 a.m. Friday in Salisbury National Cemetery.
