Gregory Martin ‘Greg’ Jessup

Gregory Martin “Greg” Jessup, 54, died at his home in Advance Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.

A native of Forsyth County, he was born Feb. 8, 1961, the son of the late Levi M. Jessup Jr. and Carolyn Joan Pack Carpenter, who survives. He attended West Forsyth High School. He was a mechanic of industrial equipment and worked for more than 30 years with Lee Jessup Forklift Service.

Also surviving: his wife of 19 years, Virginia Lynn Yates Jessup; a son, Austin G. Jessup of Winston-Salem; 3 daughters, Diane M. Jessup of Cleveland, Tenn., Stephanie L. Smith of Woodleaf, and Ashley J. Weitzel (Matthew) of Welcome; 4 brothers, Perry Jessup (Karen) of Rural Hall, Brian Jessup of King, Eric Jessup (Tammy) of Pinnacle, and Scott Carpenter (Kim) of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 2 sisters, Luanne Cardwell of Winston-Salem and Valerie Williams of Mocksville; 8 grandchildren, Olivia and Elijah McAllester, Carter Weitzel, Makayla, Kyleigh, Emma, Savannah, and Alyianna.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Carpenter.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at Bible Fellowship Baptist Church, 4950 Warner Road, Pfafftown, officiated by Pastor Leon Wishon.
