James ‘Nick’ Naylor

James “Nick” Naylor, 31, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015.
He was born in Davie County on Jan. 15, 1984, son of James Kelly Naylor and Phyllis Hunter. He was educated in Davie County Schools, and graduated from Davie High School in 2002. He attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, and then entered the U.S. Marine Corps. He served from June 10, 2005 to May 31, 2006. Recently, he was employed by Wal-Mart in Mocksville. Throughout his life he enjoyed sports that included basketball, football, wrestling, and rock climbing. He was a fan of Duke, the Buccaneers, and Celtics.
Survivors: his father, James Kelly (Angela) Naylor of Mocksville; his mother, Phyllis Hunter of Charlotte; a brother, Brian Hunter (fiancée Casey Brewer) of Angier; a sister, Tashia (J.J.) Rice of Mocksville; 2 step-sisters, Latosha Lyons of Greensboro, and Mariah Lyons of Mocksville; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service were to be held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at noon at First Baptist Church in Mocksville. Pastor Rodney Barker was to officiate, and the Rev. J.J. Rice was to deliver the eulogy. Burial with military rites was to follow at National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family was to received friends at the church one hour before the service.
