Tammy Irene Bunton, 57, died unexpectedly at her home in the Hamptonville community Monday morning, Nov. 16, 2015, after a period of declining health.

A native of Iredell County, she was born Dec. 16, 1957, the daughter of Johnny H. Bunton of Hamptonville and the late Bettie Lee Johnson. She was a graduate of West Iredell High School. Until becoming disabled, she had worked for ESC, McCaro, and Lyndall, Inc., and as an associate with her aunt at Laranda Johnson Tax Service. She had a vibrant personality and a caring and loving disposition. She was ready and willing to help anyone in need.

Also surviving: her daughters: Shanda Ostwalt (Michael Reynolds) and Melissa Wilcox (Richard LeDonne), all of Mocksville, and Christina Wolbert and Leighann Wolbert, both of Pennsylvania; 2 sons, Chris Gregory Bunton of Hamptonville and Shane Wolbert of Lexington; a brother, Bobby Bunton (Angie) of Hamptonville; a sister, Robbin “Gloria” Halcomb of Statesville; nephews, Chris McHargue (Jen) and Joseph Halcomb; niece, Brandy McHargue; great-nephew, Shawn Allen; great-niece, Lilo McHargue; her “grandpuppy” Chloe; plus several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Chester and Nell Johnson; and her paternal grandparents, Manley and Verlie Bunton.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m.Saturday, Nov. 21 at Monticello Baptist Church, 3Statesville, officiated by the Revs. Roger Holland and Joe Dellinger.
