Four Oaks Festival, Chowder Fest Saturday in Downtown Mocksville

Music, food, crafts, activities for kids and more will be in Downtown Mocksville Saturday for the annual Four Oaks Festival, and in a separate event, the second annual Chowder Fest.
The Four Oaks Festival is from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Fifty-six vendors will feature craft and gift items as well as showcase local businesses. There will be food vendors, free kids’ activities, and free live music at Junker’s Mill Outdoor Theater beginning at noon.
Kids activities will include a free maze, bounce house, inflatables, balloon art and more.
Bring a chair for the music at Junker’s Mill. The music starts at noon and continues until 6:30 p.m., featuring: noon, Misty River Band playing bluegrass music; 1:50 p.m., Western Swing with the Mystery Hillbillies; 3:30 p.m., rocking country with Tony Bailey; and at 5 p.m., Big Daddy Mojo, playing R&B and classics The band was voted Best Band in the Triad by Yes! Weekly for the past four years. The band performs cover tunes ranging from R&B to classic rock to blues and funk and pop.
• O’Callahan’s Second Annual Chowder Fest will feature four types of chowder for $3 a bowl from 3-10 p.m., with proceeds going to Backpack Buddies, a program that provides weekend food to children who receive free or reduced-price lunches at school.
The event will run from 3-10 p.m. in O’Callahan’s back parking lot and will feature the Celtic sounds of The American Rogues, an internationally recognized Celtic band. Budweiser beer girls will be on hand.
