The first week of school has flown by for Mrs. Driver’s fifth graders at William R. Davie Elementary School.

The students have been learning about each other and their classroom.

Students started by learning about each other. Once the ice was broken they dove right into the curriculum by learning the steps of the scientific method. Students then put the method to the test by conducting three classroom experiments.

The class read about one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Satchel Paige, and learned that he faced many challenges. They hope to remember this and be inspired as they prepare to face and overcome personal challenges.
