The annual Masonic Picnic – a tradition that dates back to 1878 – will be held Thursday, Aug. 13 at the picnic grounds behind the Brock center off North Main Street in Mocksville.
A program begins at 11:30 a.m., when C.T. “Scrip” Robertson will be honored for his service to the community, and to the Masons and the Oxford Home for Children.
The picnic meal – with plenty of fried chicken, casseroles, desserts and vegetables – begins at noon. Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic basket with plenty to share.
Proceeds benefit the Oxford Home for Children and the Whitestone Retirement Home.
