Memorial Day services planned

The Brock

The 17th Annual Memorial Day program will be held May 25 at 11 a.m. in the Brock Performing Arts Center on North Main Street in Mocksville.

The guest speaker will be Don Timmons. Retired from the U.S. Army in 2011, Timmons is employed by the N.C. Department of Commerce at the Forsyth County Workforce Center in the disabled veterans outreach  program.

He is married to Angela Roberson Monteieone and has one son, Jaden. He is a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 75 and is a sponsor of Davie County Hunters Helping Kids.

Music will be by the Davie County Singing Seniors, the Davie High Trumpet Ensemble and the Davie High School JROTC will perform.  The public is invited.

All veterans who attend the program will receive a free pizza lunch at Marco’s Pizza following the program.

Service Sunday

At Victory

Cooleemee-Mocksville Memorial VFW Post 1119 will host a Memorial Day service on Sunday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church in Cooleemee.

A ritual of remembrance will be held for Ken Sales and Baxter Turner.
