Ralph ‘Hoover’ Boger

Ralph “Hoover” Boger, 86, of Ben Anderson Road, Mocksville, died on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Born at home in Davie County on Jan. 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Dalton Boger and Martha Jane Anderson Boger. Mr. Boger retired from Crown Wood Products of Mocksville. He was also a farmer, a logger, and a saw mill operator. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, making wood furniture and woodworking projects, especially spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Pearlie Mae Stanley Boger; a son, Dennis Gray Boger; a granddaughter, Shalina Renee Boger Shepard; 2 sisters; 5 brothers; and a special friend, Thelma Robinette of Stony Point.
Survivors: 2 sons, Thomas Lee Boger of Mocksville and Kenneth Ray Boger of Clarendon; 4 daughters, Elizabeth Boger Wilson (Gary), Darlene Boger Chambers (Jim), Susan Boger Lawson (Mike) and Natasha Renee Wise (Matthew), all of Mocksville; and numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday, May 9 at Davie Funeral Service Chapel. The celebration of life service was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 10 at Rock Spring Baptist Church, Harmony. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
