Brida Lee (Cody) Wilkins

Brida Lee (Cody) Wilkins, 64, of Dalton Road, Mocksville, died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

A native of Davie County, she was the daughter of the late Booker T. Cody Sr. and Magdaline Wilson Cody, and the widow of the late Jurrel Lee “Tony” Wilkins, who died in 1998.

Mrs. Wilkins was a long-time employee of Jockey International Distribution Center where as a supervisor in the shipping department. She was a member Fellowship Bible Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. The joys of her life were her family, church, and cooking for those she loved.

Survivors: 4 daughters, Annette, Lauren and Regina Wilkins, all of Mocksville, and Carlotta Wilkins Jones (Marcus) of Moundville, Ala.; 2 sons, Jai Wilkins of Winston-Salem and Anthony Bobbitt (Arie) of Durham; 3 sisters, Deborah Cody of King, Mary and Deanna Cody, both of Mocksville; 3 brothers, Floyd Cody of Shelby, Edward Cody of Washington, DC, and Samuel Cody (Marie) of Winston-Salem; plus 5 grandchildren, Kory Wilkins, Nathaniel Ellis, Jirell Wilkins, Destin Maxwell, Briley Bobbitt and Shandeus Wilkins-Lohman.

She was also preceded in death by a son, James Cody, and 5 brothers, Booker T. Cody Jr., Elmer Cody, John Cody, William Cody and Charles Cody.

A celebration of life service was to be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Davie Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Gregory Dennis officiating. The family was to receive friends at the funeral chapel from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial was to follow in the Rose Cemetery in Mocksville.
